Oh wow!  Cody is leaving already?  I remember when I used to go to the deaf ward.  We were all so small!  I have some good news.  Edward finally got back.  We taught him twice.  We asked him to be baptized and he said yes.  He will be baptized on March 22.  He is really excited.  Everything should go just fine with him.

Oh, thank you for telling me about your birthdays.  I almost forgot.  When I was in the MTC, I forgot that it was my own birthday on June 8.  I only remembered when you all sent me that cake.  I opened it up and was very surprised!

Time is going by so fast!  I'm getting closer and closer to one year.  I think right now I'm at 10 months of serving a mission.  I'm almost halfway!  I've just been so busy.  There's no enough time to write letters or buy stamps.

Well, everything is moving along, even if it is not as fast as I want it to be.  Keep praying for me.

Last week I did not get an email from you.  I don't know what questions you asked me.  :(  Maybe you sent it to the wrong person?  lol

But we have good news about Edward.  He is back from Arizona and he came to church this past Sunday!  He really likes it.  I think he will be baptized soon.  We need to set up a new day for him to be baptized.  The day we first set up was February 15, but that was the day he got back from Arizona.  He wasn't able to meet with us or attend church for 2 weeks.  :(  It's ok, he's ready.

The weather here is warming up!  It used to be so cold, but now it's almost the same weather as when I got here.  I'll send you the memory card.  I put the envelope together and everything, but I looked for some stamps.  I don't have anymore.  :(  I'm going to buy some tomorrow.  I think you'll get the letter before next Monday.

Cool, Luke is signing a little bit!  When I get back, we will talk with each other.

Well, that's it for news.  I'll talk to you next week.

(His mom wrote to Elder Giles: Really? We did email you. Mmm. Oh well, we will repeat to copy the past message and send it to you this Sunday night. When you have time, you try your best to send us this memory card. No Hurry.)

February 11, 2013

Hello, we don't have a lot of time to email today.  I have just a short bit. I've had a good week so far.  I haven't sent the memory card yet. :(  I keep planning to do it, but there is no time. There's always too much to do.

There hasn't been too much change.  We're still looking for deaf people to teach.  Edward is still in Arizona, so there are no deaf investigators right now.

We have some hearing investigators, but they're not progressing too much.  We're really helping them to come to church. Oh, one thing that I remembered.  On Saturday, we had a zone fast. All the missionaries go together to fast for new investigators. Then, the next day at church, we were just leaving a class when someone told us that there was someone new in church. We went and met them.  They told us that they've been wanting to go to church and learn more.  They just showed up! We were amazed.  They loved everything about church.  All the members were so nice to them and invited them to different activities.  They said they would come next week, so we're hoping to see them again.

Well, that's all the time I have.

I'll talk to you next week.
Love Elder Giles.

February 4, 2013

Hello. I have some sad news. We planned for Edward to be baptized Feb 15, but he's in Arizona right now. He won't get back until the 15. He won't be ready for baptism. But he still wants to learn.

Super Bowl was very interesting. It was really hard to find people to teach because everyone was watching the Super Bowl. This whole week was very interesting. We only had 8 lessons this week. Normally we get about 20- 22 lessons a week. Some wonderful things have happened though. A quick story. Elder Horlacher and I were walking to our car to leave when we saw a man walking down the street. We decided to walk over to him and talk to him. I said Hello and told him who we were. I asked him if we could share a message with him. He said Oh yeah, that's fine. I asked him when we could do that. He said "Hmmm, how about right now?" I was so surprised! I said "Ok, we can do that." We started to share the gospel with him right there on the street. The whole time he was trying not to smile. We gave him a book of Mormon and everything and said a prayer right there on the street. We set up a time to visit him again. His name is Joseph. I think that he will accept everything we say. It will be great.

Well, You will get my memory card soon. I'll need to buy some stamps though. I'm running out. I have about 3 or 4 left.
